The NQAAC will hold preperation workshops to review the progress
in institutions that have completed funded projects and a developmental
engagement in the period 2005-2007 in 25-26 April 2007 , Dr. Robert
Schofield and Dr. Arthur Brown (British Consultants) , represented
NQAAC members and managers of the QA center in the universities which
will be visited will also attend this workshops . |

| Following
the activities of the NQAAC a new workshop “ NARS “ National
Academic Reference Standard , will be held in Sunday 22 April 2007 , in
the Training Center in El Demerdash Hospital - Ain Shames
Uni. To present some pilot studies of deferent sectors,
representative team from the following universities will attend this
workshop: |

National Quality assurance and accreditation committee will held ''the
managers of the quality assurance and accreditation centers '' meeting
in Saturday 24th of Feb. 2007 from 6 to 8 pm at the project management
unit, Dr. Salwa EL Magoli(chairperson of the NQAAC, Dr. Robert
Schofield and Dr. Arthur Brown (British Consultants) will attend this
meeting. |

| President Mubarak and The "Science
Day" |
President Mubarak stressed the importance of the
role of science and scholars in the advancement of
nations. Celebrating the "Science Day" annually
appraising the value of science and scholars. It also
encourages distinguished elite of top graduates and
confirms continuity of giving to Egyptian generation
after generation.

| This was mentioned
in the 'Science Day" for year 2006 where The President
Mubarak said that establishment of a "knowledge society
" became a necessity for the contemporary society
that we wish for Egypt and its generations living in a
world with rapid advancements in sciences, knowledge and
technology. Establishment of a "knowledge society
" is also an important criterion for development
of nations. |

Students
Ladies and Gentlemen
I speak to you today in the "Science Day" ..
We gather today in this magnificent annual festive.. appraising
the value of science… and hosting scientists and
underscoring their role in the development of our country.
We witness a deserved honoring to those who won the governmental
prizes in science and advanced technology.. and an encouragement
that should be done to a distinguished elite of top students…
in a gathering that has deep meanings…. emphasizing
continued support and giving of Egypt generation after
generation.
Revival of this festive two years ago came to assure our
appreciation of science , scientists and teachers…and
to acknowledge their participation with Egypt thinkers
and cultured people in building "knowledge society"
and the contemporary society we strive to attain.
Building "knowledge society" became a necessary
and mandatory condition for the contemporary society that
we aim for Egypt and its people in a world witnessing
unprecedented development in sciences and knowledge. |
The previous parliament term
approved the law establishing the "National Quality
Assurance and Accreditation Agency" for educational
institutions as an important legislative step building
an institutional system for performance appraisal of such
institutions and their accreditation in accordance with
international reference standards.
I invite the government to complete the executive policy
and procedures of this important law to announce it as
a presidential decree before the end of this month. |
